The first Seniors' Showcase was held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Cessnock Church in Cooper Street. This event showcased a variety of services and activities available locally for seniors, including: Rotary, Lions and Probus club; Men's and Women's sheds; wood turners; ukulele group; Cessnock Library; Service NSW; care providers; tai chi; massage; masters swimming; over 55's living; computer info; state and federal member representatives and even more!
It was a great success, with the opening being performed by local member, Mr Clayton Barr, and attendance by many, many local seniors.
Our 2nd annual Seniors' Showcase event was held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 1-4pm. Cessnock Rotary cooked their famous sausage sizzle bbq; Cessnock Lions served refreshments in the kitchen; the seniors' choir, line dancers and the ukulele groups performed AND, as well as all this, there were some informative talks about health, finances, retirements and services from all levels of government.
Our 3rd annual Seniors' Showcase was held in March, 2025, during Cessnock Council's Seniors' Week.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO SENIORS' SHOWCASE IN 2026.
